Tylor Chase Job|Career|Biography

Chase became widely known for his role as Martin Qwerly, a recurring character on the Nickelodeon comedy series Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, which aired from 2004 to 2007. The show ran for three seasons and focused on the everyday experiences of middle school students.

Beyond Ned’s Declassified, Chase appeared in the 2005 television series Everybody Hates Chris and portrayed Young Adam in the 2007 independent film Good Time Max, which was written, directed by, and starred James Franco. He also lent his voice to the 2011 video game L.A. Noire. In 2020, Chase expanded into writing by self-publishing two books under the pen name “Shrine Tylor.” The first, A Vampire’s Salvation: Shrine and Ellen (The Tales of Shrine Book 1), was released in January, followed by So Be It: Says Jehovah (Shrine and Ellen Book 2) in July.

Beginning in the mid-2010s, Chase shared spoken-word pieces about his mental health through a personal YouTube channel and live poetry performances. In 2014, his poem titled “Bipolar” and subsequent “Bipolar vlogs” addressed his experiences with bipolar disorder and feelings of isolation. He continued posting similar content until at least 2021.

In September 2025, Chase was found homeless on the streets of Riverside, California, in videos that went viral on TikTok. Media coverage of the clips raised concern for his well-being and sparked discussions about the challenges faced by former child actors, as well as ethical questions surrounding the filming of unhoused individuals for social media. His former co-stars from Ned’s Declassified—Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsey Shaw—spoke about his situation on their podcast and stated that they were working to help him.

Following another viral video in December 2025, a GoFundMe campaign was launched, raising $1,207 before being shut down. Chase’s mother reportedly stated that he “needs medical help instead of money.” That same month, Shaun Weiss, known for the The Mighty Ducks film series and who had previously overcome struggles with addiction and homelessness, publicly offered to assist Chase.

Weiss said he had secured a bed for him at a detox facility and arranged long-term treatment at Eleven 11 Recovery in San Clemente, California, though Chase still needed to be located and consent to receive help. Chase was eventually evaluated by a crisis center and deemed in immediate need of assistance. He was hospitalized under a 72-hour hold by Riverside County officials, though he was released after 36 hours.
